Archaeological Weblogs

The Archaeology in Europe Weblog was started in December 2003. The purpose of the blog is simply to provide easily accessible, up-to-date news of archaeology in Europe.

In August 2007, the Viking Archaeology Blog was started. The original purpose of this blog was to provide a news source for students take the University of Oxford’s online course:
Vikings: Raiders, Traders and Settlers”. However, the site also proved of interest to a large number of people interested in the Viking Age.

The popularity of the Viking Archaeology Blog led to the creation of the
Anglo-Saxon Archaeology Blog in January 2008, and the Medieval Warfare Blog in November 2008.

In June 2009, two new blogs were added: the Prehistoric Archaeology Blog and the
Roman Archaeology Blog.

March 2010 saw the creation of the Archaeology Study Tours Blog.

All of these blogs have their own RSS feeds. (What is RSS?)
